Hello beautiful people of the fashion world! I am (finally) back and here to stay. As of Sunday, I will be a high school graduate meaning that I finally have time to devote to my blog! With all the senior events this month, I have quite a few fashionable moments to document! And what better way to start than with one of the most glamorous, extravagent, anticipated nights of high school; Prom!
My junior prom was one of the best nights of high school so I went into senior prom unsure if it could top the previous year. Every doubt I had going into the night seemed pointless as I finally fell asleep in the early hours of the next morning. From the dress, to my date, to the dance itself, prom was the perfect way to end high school and a night I'll never forget.
This is my art and fashion buddy, Lauren. How stylish did she look??
First, let's talk about my prom look itself.
The search for this dress was not an easy one. In fact, I'd actually owned a dress in a wildly different style and color that I wasn't entirely sold on before I found this dress. It's a La Femme prom dress found at The Prom Shop by Memories in Grand Rapids and it stole my heart the second I pulled it off the rack. I'm just as obsessed with the pale blue lace over the blush lining of this dress as I am with the 2016 colors of the year, Rose Quartz and Serenity, so it was a no brainer the once I put it on. I was set on a mermaid style and this dress delivered. My dress also had sheer sequins sewn over the lace so it had a subtle shimmer without being over-the-top which I adored. I felt like a princess all night in this dress but felt that it still fit in with my classic, chic, sometimes edgy sense of style.
To ensure that my look didn't veer too far towards 'girly-girl' I accessorized with a blush leather wallet, nude Steve Madden heeled sandals (which I forgot to snap a picture of), and big pink and white earring.

I had to take a selfie of my hair and makeup because I loved it so much. My date's aunt did my hair in a low twisted side bun with two little curls hanging down. Carly from East Lansing Sephora gave me glowing skin, bold brown, mauve lips, dramatic eyes, and a flawless highlight and contour. I was feeling this look all night and wish I could rock prom hair and makeup all day everyday
Before I move on, I wanted to bring some special attention to my best friend's looks as well. Emilee killed it in a BCBG lace dress that she would not have found if it wasn't a certain special someone (cough cough me cough cough) forcing her to try it on. Anna (aka the prom queen) looked classically elegant in my favorite color combination, black and white. And let's not forget little Quinn. Quinn stole the show in her coral and white dress, we wish we could've taken her into the dance with us!
Now I can't do a post about prom without giving a shoutout to my amazing date, my boyfriend Tino. Even though we had to practice extra hard for our photos (the one above was not as effortless as it looks), I had the best time at the dance with him. Also, can we take a moment appricate how stylish Tino looks? Matching the shades of blue was a little tricky but we looked pretty good together if I do say so myself.
Tino's tux was pretty great but I think the highlight of his outfit were the burger print socks my mom found for him at Marshall's
So there you have it, senior prom in a nutshell. Everything about this fashion-forward night was so memorable and so fun. I've spent the past week wishing I could go back but at least this blog post has helped me relive a night I'll never forget! Xo.
